Firearms Licensing: A Consultation on Recommendations for Changes Made to the Home Office” Published on the 29 June 2023.

 

Introduction

The above consultation document has been produced in response to the inquests into the tragic events in Plymouth,2021, when five people were unlawfully killed by a shotgun certificate holder, and the ongoing case of the fatal shooting of John MacKinnon by a licensed shotgun owner, on the Isle of Skye on 10 August 2022.

The consultation document makes recommendations for changes to the Firearms Licensing and Shotgun Certificate application/renewal processes.

The consultation document noted above is available for everyone to read and make comments, at the following address. The cut-off for public comment is the 23 August 2023.
