Events will be:

Non-disabled athletes will compete in Matches R1, R2, P1, P2 or P5

There will be the opportunity for 2 competitions in each event. The first competition score will count towards qualification for the Final and the second will be added to the first to create an aggregate competition.

If numbers allow, there will be an A and B class based on submitted averages for the aggregate competitions. Minimum of 16 competitors in a competition will be needed to create an A and B class. Qualification for the finals will be taken from all competitors regardless of class.

The ticketing system allows you to shoot up to 4 times over the 2 days. This allows rifle athletes to shoot standing and prone, twice each, and pistol athletes to shoot the precision match (P1/P2) and the Standard pistol match (P5) twice each. If a pistol athlete wishes to shoot P1 or P2 more than twice, you can, but the extra shoots will be for honours only.

Day 1 – Friday 12th July is an official training day.

Day 2 – Saturday 13th July – Competitions for all disciplines, except P5, with finals for the Pistol (P1 & P2) and standing rifle disciplines (R1, R2 & R4). Ther will be no final for VI.

The first match shot will be the qualifying match for the final.

2. Awards ceremonies

The awards ceremonies will take place immediately after the end of each Final for matches with finals. Medals for the aggregate competitions will be awarded after the last detail.

3. Rules and Regulations

All the competitions, except VI, will be conducted according to the current WSPS Rules and Regulations as far as is reasonably practicable. Please note that the WSPS use the final format that was shot at the Tokyo Olympics.

Shooting for the Visually Impaired (VI) was trialled last year. An outcome of the trial is that the competition format will be Benchrest using the NSRA rules as guidance rather than the WSPS prone or standing competitions.

We welcome all disabled shooters, a national or international disability classification for shooting is not required. This will be a great time to meet other athletes and officials to find out how you can become classified, if you want.

3 .1 Non-disabled Athletes

Non-disabled athletes are welcome if space permits. We would love to see those who shoot in clubs alongside their disabled friends to also compete in this competition. Priority will be given to non-disabled athletes who are accompanying a disabled athlete.

Non-disabled athletes are asked to complete the free of charge ticket request. The organisers will contact you no later than 23rd June to let you know if you do or do not have a place in the competition. If you have a place you will be asked to complete the purchase of a ticket.

National Sport Classification opportunity

This competition does not require you to have a disability classification to enter. If you do not have a classification and would like to go through the classification process to enable you to shoot at competitions that do require you to be classified, we are pleased to let you know that in partnership with British Shooting we have arranged for a classifier to be in Swansea on Friday 12th July and you can book an appointment to be classified.

There will be a fee of £40 which you will be invoiced once you have completed an application form. Your appointment will be confirmed when you have paid. You will then receive a WSPS Medical Diagnosis Form which you will submit, with supporting medical evidence (Diagnosis reports/letters from hospitals/consultants) of your impairment, to British Shooting. The Medical Diagnosis form is required to be signed by your GP or Consultant. You do not need to complete NPC and SDMS ID on the form.

To be classified you need to have an eligible impairment.
