The Be Active Wales Fund is reopening soon – now is the ideal time to start shaping your project and preparing a strong application. If your club is looking to inspire more people to take part in sport, this fund could provide the financial support you need to grow, develop and make a lasting impact in your community.
Backed by the National Lottery and delivered by Sport Wales, the programme offers grants of £300 to £50,000 to not-for-profit sports clubs and community groups across Wales.
Welsh Shooting is here to guide and support you at every stage of the process.
Funding can support:
· Equipment to help more people take part
· Coaching courses (up to Level 2)
· Entry-level training (e.g. First Aid, Officiating)
· Venue hire for new teams only (up to 10 weeks)
· Pitch improvement projects
Window 1:
Opens: Thursday 2 April 2026, 9am Expression of Interest Deadline: Monday 1 June 2026, 9am Closes: Thursday 4 June 2026, 4pm
Window 2:
Opens: Wednesday 8 July 2026, 9am Expression of Interest Deadline: Friday 11 September 2026, 9am Closes: Wednesday 16 September 2026, 4pm
Window 3:
Opens: Wednesday 4 November 2026, 9am Expression of Interest Deadline: Friday 8 January 2027, 9am Closes: Wednesday 13 January 2027, 4pm
Your club must contribute at least 10% of the total project cost.
· £300 – £25,000: Up to 90% funded
· £25,001 – £50,000: Up to 80% funded

If you’ve missed the deadline for a current window, there’s no need to wait until the next window opens — you can submit your EOI at any time, and it will automatically roll forward to the next round of funding.
Crowdfunder is the UK’s leading funding platform where individuals can take their ideas forward and make them a reality with help from the crowd. A Place For Sport offers clubs a great opportunity to engage with their community and raise money. If clubs or community organisations can raise money towards a targeted goal, Sport Wales will pledge funds up to 50% towards the given project.
