Sport Wales have launched the Energy Saving Grant to support not-for-profit sports clubs and community groups across Wales in implementing energy-saving improvements. The grant aims to help clubs reduce their energy costs, lower carbon footprints, and enhance their financial sustainability. Applications for the grant are open from 21st May to 25th June 2025.
Grant Overview
Clubs can apply for grants of up to £25,000 to fund various energy-saving measures,
including:
Installation of solar panels and storage batteries
Upgrades to insulation, windows, and doors
Installation of energy-efficient lighting (excluding floodlights)
Improvements to heating and hot water systems (excluding catering-only purposes)
Implementation of sustainable water systems, such as rainwater harvesting or boreholes
This funding is aimed at making clubs more sustainable, cutting down on energy bills, and helping protect the environment.
