There will be the opportunity for 2 competitions in each event. The first competition score will count towards qualification for the Final and the second will be added to the first to create an aggregate competition.
The ticketing system allows you to shoot up to 4 times over the 2 days. This allows rifle athletes to shoot standing and prone, twice each. If a pistol or rifle athlete wishes to shoot the same event more than twice, you can, but the extra shoots will be for honours only.
Day 1 – Friday 11th July is an official training day.
Day 2 – Saturday 12th July – Competitions for all disciplines with finals for the Pistol (P1 & P2) and standing rifle disciplines (R1, R2 & R4).
Day 3 – Sunday 13th July – Competitions for all disciplines with finals for the prone rifle disciplines (R3 & R5).
There will be no final for VI.
Non-disabled athletes will compete in Matches R1, R2, P1 or P2
2. Awards ceremonies
The awards ceremonies will take place immediately after the end of each Final for matches with finals. Medals for the aggregate competitions will be awarded after the last detail.
3. Rules and Regulations
All the competitions, except VI, will be conducted according to the current WSPS Rules and Regulations as far as is reasonably practicable.
Shooting for the Visually Impaired (VI) competition format will be Benchrest using the NSRA rules as guidance rather than the WSPS prone or standing competitions.
We welcome all disabled shooters, a national or international disability classification for shooting is not required. This will be a great time to meet other athletes and officials to find out how you can become classified, if you want.
3 .1 Non-disabled Athletes
Non-disabled athletes are welcome if space permits. We would love to see those who shoot in clubs alongside their disabled friends to also compete in this competition. Priority will be given to non-disabled athletes who are accompanying a disabled athlete.
Non-disabled athletes are asked to complete the free of charge ticket request. The organisers will contact you no later than 1st July to let you know if you do or do not have a place in the competition. If you have a place you will be asked to complete the purchase of a ticket.
