Three talented Welsh athletes have been chosen to represent Great Britain at the upcoming ISSF Junior World Cup in Suhl, Germany, from May 19th – 27th.
The athletes selected are:
- Lucy Banner (Air Pistol)
- Oliver McCabe (Air Rifle)
- Robert Lewis (Shotgun)
Lucy expressed her excitement:
“I am thrilled to have been selected again to represent Great Britain at the Junior World Cup in Suhl, Germany. The competition will be a great challenge, and I’m looking forward to continuing my preparation with my coaches in hopes of achieving a strong result. In addition to the individual events, I’ve also been selected for the mixed team event, which adds an exciting new dynamic that I’m eager to experience.”
Oliver shared his pride in being selected:
“My parents and I are absolutely delighted and proud of my selection for the Junior World Cup. This achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of myself, my coaches at Go Sport Carmarthen, WTSF, and British Shooting.
I’m looking forward to this incredible opportunity and am honoured to represent British Shooting internationally for the first time—especially after only joining the British Shooting development pathway six months ago. It’s amazing to see Welsh athletes representing Great Britain at this level, and I’m proud to fly the flag for both GB and Wales.”
Robert is equally excited about the opportunity:
“I’m thrilled and honoured to represent GB for a second time. I can’t wait to compete in the mixed team event and experience a World Cup for the first time.”
The WTSF Chief Operating Officer, Alan Green, extends his very best wishes to the athletes on behalf of the organisation. “I wish all these young athletes’ success in their competitions, that they enjoy the experience and come home with memories that will last for the rest of their shooting careers”
Best of luck to our athletes in Suhl!
