Following on from the success of the inaugural Para Sport Festival last August, Welsh Target Shooting Federation is pleased to announce that Target Shooting will be in the 2023 Para Sport Festival which is being organised by Disability Sport Wales in Swansea.
Once again we will turn the Swansea Tennis centre into an airgun range, and in addition to the rifle and pistol events we ran last year, we are adding the P5 standard pistol event to the programme, plus, there will be a demonstration event for visually impaired athletes on Friday afternoon.
The Tennis centre will become a multi-sport venue as British Fencing will be running their championships in the hall next to shooting.
The competitions are open to all disabled shooters throughout the UK and further afield if you want to visit us. The focus is about getting as many shooters together as we can to showcase Shooting Parasport in the UK.
It would be great to see as many clubs as possible represented. Last year we had queries about classification. If you do not have a disability sports classification we will welcome you at the competition. It’s a great time to find out more about how to become classified whilst having fun competing.
We also want to celebrate the equality as well as the inclusivity of our sport by allowing non-disabled athletes the opportunity to compete. We will limit the numbers if necessary but if you have a team mate at the club who would like to compete, ask them to complete the entry request.
If you are not an athlete, but a coach, supporter or spectator please select the free of charge accreditation ticket. This will help us gauge how many people will be at the event and ensure those who need access to the field of play are accredited.
