Coronavirus Update – 23rd September

Return to Shooting Still Encouraged Despite More Local Lock-Down Measures

In addition to Caerphilly, the counties of Newport City, Bridgend, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Blaenau Gwent, and Merthyr Tydfil implemented local lock-down measures effective from 6pm Tuesday 22nd September.

There are no changes to the regulations and guidance covering organised indoor or outdoor sport in these areas, and target shooting facilities can continue to welcome visitors from inside their county areas. People should not travel in to or out of a local lock-down area for target shooting.

We encourage target shooting facilitates to welcome visitors who are prevented from attending their usual facilities due to the local lock-down measures. Similarly, we strongly advise shooters who do not live in a local lock-down area but whose activity is currently limited by local lock-down measures to contact other facilities to arrange access. Each facility may have their own policies for welcoming non-member visitors, in all cases we advise due diligence such as checking firearm certificates and attestations from existing memberships.
