Coronavirus Update – 10th June

Coronavirus Update – 10th June

Advice to clubs and shooting grounds in Wales, with outdoor facilities.

There is no significant change since our update last week. All outdoor and indoor target shooting facilities remain closed in line with Welsh Government public health guidance. Our expectation is that outdoor shooting disciplines will be the first to return.

Regular consultation meetings with our shooting partners and the Welsh Sports Association (WSA) continue. We are seeking clarification from the Welsh Government, through the WSA, on the definition of ‘outside courts’ to better understand how outdoor sport guidelines apply to target shooting.

Last week we advised that we are working quickly to prepare advice. Although facilities in Wales must remain closed until the Welsh Government allows their re-opening, risk assessments are a proactive step that can be taken now to prepare for a return to shooting.

We have prepared an advice document and risk assessment template, which can be downloaded through the link below.

We appreciate your understanding and patience at this difficult time, we all want to get back to shooting as soon as possible but we must do so in a safe way.
